As well as providing services for young people, parents and carers TVYP supports everyone in the local community and visitors to the area. We welcome your ideas and action to add to the opportunities and services available in this wonderful Youth and Community Resource Centre. 

 

We can offer expertise and broker links to access the help you need  to bring your ideas to life. Perhaps you would like to organise some local learning classes, start a club or create opportunities to socialise and meet people with your interests. Community Resource Centre

The Youth and Community Resource Centre is located in a modern purpose-built facility with easy access (including provision for wheelchair users) and ample car parking.  We are normally open to visitors from 10.00am – 4pm Monday to Friday and we host events and activities until 10.00pm (Monday – Friday) and until 6pm on Saturdays. Current planning constraints require us to close to the public on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

Community Crèche

The crèche is open for learning events related to young children and events where childcare is provided.  It is also used by SureStart who have a local office at TVYP and work with Wigmore’s Parent & Toddler Group which meets weekly (see What’s on at TVYP? for details. Community Café And Kitchen

Our Community Café (Bridge Café at TVYP) is open Mon - Fri from 10.30 – 3.30pm for self-service tea, coffee or soft drinks and a selection of cakes, muffins and biscuits (including ‘healthy options’).  On fine days there is direct access to a paved patio and lawn suitable for garden parties and barbecues (see Plan To view TVYP's floor plan please click on the download button above and Printing off the information from the web or right click on the link and choose save as). 
The café is served by a spacious, fully equipped kitchen with a gas cooking range and machine dishwashing facilities.

Community Learning And Education Alley

We have two training rooms which can be arranged to provide a single larger training or meeting room.  Equipped with wall-mounted whiteboards and networked internet access (cabled or wireless) we can also provide TV/VHS/DVD, PC, data- and over-head- projectors and screen and portable flipchart/whiteboards.  Maximum accommodation is 75.

 

In Education Alley we provide Connexions (16–19yrs) and NextStep (over-19s) information points on higher education and employment with associated reference books and advice and guidance supported by a trained worker.  We also have a collection of reference books for parents and carers of young people (more at Helpful Resources for Parents of Teenagers) and details of courses available at local Colleges.  Nearby employment opportunities are displayed at the Job Station and staff can help young people with job applications.

Uk Online Centre

Our UK Online Centre includes a dedicated computer room equipped
with up to six networked PCs and an Apple I-Mac with access to A3
colour and B&W laser and high quality ink-jet printers.  We provide
fast cabled broadband access throughout the training area
(see Community Learning and Education Alley for details) and fast
wireless links throughout the building.

Hire It!
All our facilities equipment are available for public use or hire. You can view or download our brochure (Click Here To download our brochure and price list please click on the download button above and Printing off the information from the web or right click on the link and choose save as) which lists equipment most commonly hired, with terms and rates.  If you have a special need or wish to hire items not listed in our brochure please Contact Us and we will do our best to help. 

 

Some items are available at concessionary rates for activities involving young people and/or charitable use.  Hire may be booked in advance and may be subject to cancellation and/or late return charges and a returnable deposit which will be stated at the time of booking.

 

In all cases please note that as a condition of hire it is the hirer’s responsibility to repair or replace any lost or damaged item(s).
 

Equipment and facilities for hire include:

*ROOMS.  Rooms may be hired by the session (morning, afternoon, evening) or the day.  Hire rates include access to car-parking, toilets and to the crèche/café (unless separately hired – please ask when booking).  Rates start at £10 per session.
Short term hire of smaller rooms is also available, please Contact Us
with your requirements.  Maximum seating capacities are Training
Rooms – 30 (75 both); Café – 50;  UKOnline – 20.    Whiteboards
and flipcharts, if required, are included in the hire charge (please
order when booking).
*DISPLAYS.  A selection of portable display units available
ranging from single A1 size panels to stacked A1 panels in groups
of up to five (with carry cases).  We also have a 7-panel
(A2 x3ea) portable display/screen.  Spotlights are available for
larger panels.  Rates from £5 per day.  (All display panels require
Velcro
pads – they are not suitable for use with Blu-tack or
drawing pins)

*MARQUEE.  A heavy duty 6x6m (20x20 ft) white canvas

marquee with sides, suitable for use on soft ground (not
asphalt) supplied with pegs, ropes and tools.  Two adults
are required for assembly with a small van, large car or
trailer for transport.  Rates start at £25 (youth
organisations) and £45 (private hire) per day.  Special
rates for weekends.

*PRESENTATION.  We can provide a high resolution (XGA)
digital- (for computers) or portable overhead- (for transparencies)
projectors and screen; 5-channel CD/DVD sound/video system;
TV and flat LCD display units; flip-chart folders and whiteboards.
Rates from £5 - £25 per day. 

*CATERING.  A wide range of catering supplies – cutlery,
chinaware and cooking utensils. Please Contact Us

Rates are reduced by up to 50% for equipment hired for use in a hired room.
