Welcome to all Parents &/or Carers…

Here at Teme Valley Youth Project we understand that while having teenagers is a fun, creative and rewarding time it can also be stressful and frustrating…

This page is to help you find out more about what is available for young people to get involved in, where to get help if you need it and what is on offer to keep you up to date and feeling relaxed.

The Youth and Community Centre in Wigmore offers a broad
programme of social activities, drop-ins, trips, project nights
and learning workshops for 13-25 year olds. Qualified youth
workers and session staff, who have all undergone CRB
checks, ensure the sessions run smoothly and are a fun
place to go for anyone in this age group. Take a look at
the latest youth programme to get a flavour of what is on
offer.

Membership is currently only £8 per annum for as many
sessions a week as your teenager wishes to do, the only
extras are the cost of trips, transport and occasionally the
more expensive materials for special workshops.

Many of the young people get involved in volunteering
getting great experience for going on to study or the
workplace

Although someone can start in school year 9 we recommend that they ease in slowly by getting involved in an “after school club” first. Once they get to 14 the older drop-ins will be a fun more informal experience. Project nights have more structure to them and are great for youngsters who like to get involved in making decisions. The youth committee is a good chance to learn about democracy and running a club on behalf of others.
